Furnishing homes and people’s lives

We sell great value, pre-loved furniture for your home and help people improve their life chances by creating ongoing training and employment opportunities for unemployed people and those at risk of homelessness.

Visit our online shop to find bargains and furnish your home on a budget. We have an ever-changing stock of second-hand furniture for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and bathrooms.

We’ve found that almost every home has something to offer. If you want to help furnish the lives of others, get in touch. You can either: organise a visit for collection where we will select specific bits and take them away with us completely free of charge or you can set up a free site visit from one of our staff members, to receive a price estimate for a total clearance of all your unwanted items. Please note that the costs of a total clearance are to cover travel, labour wage(s), and disposal.

Furnish aims to make a lasting difference to the lives of unemployed people and those at risk of homelessness. We create a supportive environment to train and upskill individuals to gain work experience and progress in their chosen career. Plus all of the money from furniture sales goes straight back into helping local communities through Learning Links.

Come and visit us at our Kingston Road store: we have a showroom and computers with high speed internet access so you can browse our online shop to your heart’s content. You can also speak to staff about organising a collection, delivery or any other questions you may have.

To arrange a collection call 02393 876666 or drop us a line at furnish@learninglinks.co.uk.

We urgently need your furniture donations!

We can collect FREE of CHARGE any furniture and electrical items in good condition. If you are thinking of giving your unwanted furniture to charity, please consider donating to us! The money generated helps the local community and enables unemployed people and those at risk of homelessness to get work experience, learn new skills and improve life chances.

If you are a UK Tax payer you can make your donation go even further by making a simple Gift Aid declaration which will enable us to claim a further 25% on your gift.

Equally, if you are a company who has a family or individual to refer to us, please fill out and complete Goods Referral request form for Furnish and send it to us.

Call us on 02392 296460 to arrange a FREE collection or contact us.

We collect Monday to Friday, 09:30 – 16:30.
If it’s in fair condition and can be reused, we’ll take it! We gratefully receive any good condition furniture and white goods but especially want beds, sofas, armchairs and chairs, tables, wardrobes, chests of drawers, fridges, freezers and washing machines.  If you are thinking of giving your unwanted furniture to charity, please consider donating to Furnish.

All donated furniture has to be in a good, re-usable quality and any furniture or furnishings that contain upholstery must also comply with British fire safety regulations. Please check whether your furniture has the required fire labels before you book a collection.

Examples of items that need fire labels include beds, headboards, mattresses, sofas, sofa-beds, futons and other convertibles, nursery furniture, scatter cushions, seat pads, pillows and loose and stretch covers for furniture.

We do accept electrical items which pass our safety test. We will test on collection.

Healthwatch Portsmouth’s involvement was crucial in providing a strong voice of challenge to agencies and providing an insight into how the child and their family may have experienced agency actions.
I learnt to deal with things one thing at a time. To relax and take a step back and ‘take a breath’ instead of overreacting all the time.
As an independent organisation Healthwatch Portsmouth was able to voice patient experience, identify learning points and areas for improvement.
I found that my depression and self-esteem have both improved and I now feel much more positive.
Healthwatch identified the mental health difficulties that the daughter was experiencing and her growing anger that this was not being listened to.
